Writing Portfolio
Writing and storytelling is the heart and soul of who I am as a creative. Whether navigating a branching narrative or diving deep into worldbuilding or lore, you can bet I'll be there!

Here are some examples of my work, with a link to read each below!
51 Degrees North, 7 Degrees East
March, 1945. Far from home and behind enemy lines, a United States Marine recounts his squad's fight for their lives in a desperate bid to uncover a secret Nazi base.

51N 7E was one of the first short stories I penned after getting into creative writing, and I believe it still stands as a great example of my writing style. This work would later spawn several other sequels and spin-offs, branching into a larger written story that I continue coming back to even now.

Ministrant
Chapter 1: That Which is Moral, Is Good
Jennifer d'Mure never really fit in around Ministrant. Pristine white walls shielded this small town from all the evils of the outside world. That is, until the curious arrival of one reluctant vampire.

Ministrant was a work I co-authored with a longtime friend of mine. I developed the concept, and would write the book from the perspective of the protagonist, where alternatively he would write the perspective of our vampiric deuteragonist. We published parts of the story in grouped chapter sections, with my friend providing the cover art you see above. This was one of my first experiments with "alternative" storytelling styles, and it also stands as a good example of my typesetting abilities!

Musambique
Set in a world where musical artists are personified as single characters, a daring young rocker dares to stand against the "pop culture" of his city.

Musambique is the work most detached from my usual writing style, and is therefore a good example of my writing flexibility. I set out to create a very metaphorical tale, so it reads a little bit more "loosely" than my other works. I challenge you to find all the hidden references within!

Halloween Party
Halloween Party is a visual novel I wrote with the assistance of two classmates during my time at the University of Florida. I was very lucky to work with Nicole Brown, who handled the character art, as well as Preethi Venkataraman, who coded the experience. I handled all of the writing for this work using a program called Twine, which allows you to create multiple "pages" and link them via keywords or dialogue choices, among other features. Overall, this was a very fun experience, being able to write three totally distinct characters, and trying to create fitting interactions for the player to have with them.

The Story of Grigor Federoff
For a Russian History class while at the University of Florida, I was tasked with creating a realistic life story of a fictitious citizen of the USSR. This story would span several periods of Russian history, from the World Wars, through the post-Stalin "Thaw" period. I found this to be an exceptionally interesting project, as I had to blend real, cited facts with a fictional character. This sort of alternate-history work has also influenced my more recent stories, and the Storymaps web format was certainly an interesting exercise in layout design as well.

Senior Project- Dregs
My capstone project while at UF was Dregs. An experimental story told through the lens of a paranoid man's personal blog, I attempted to blend aspects of traditional storytelling and the format of an "ARG", or alternate reality game. Additionally, this was my first time writing horror.
